Too much time hanging out with friends leads to divorce?

Divorce has become a common word in today's society. Some people probably remember a time when divorce was seen as the most serious of taboos. With the advent of no-fault divorce, courts hear a multitude of divorce cases, some of which involve very complex property divisions. Today many of the complex divorces involve celebrities who have amassed vast fortunes.

Broadcaster and former professional athlete Ahmad Rashad and his wife Sale Johnson are reportedly heading for divorce as their relationship has fallen upon hard times. The couple married in 2007; it was the fourth for Rashad and Johnson's second. It has been reported that Rashad's close relationship with other celebrities like Michael Jordan, who lived with the couple for some time, and Tiger Woods, has become an issue in the relationship because he spends copious amounts of time with them.

Johnson is reported to be worth around $100 million with properties in at least two states. If the couple decide to divorce, there is a prenuptial agreement in place which would govern the distribution of the couple's property.

In Florida, there are many who are enjoying their second, third, or even fourth marriage. When getting married again, it is important to be aware of the possible implications a divorce could have on everyone's lives. Without a written agreement, for example, assets meant for children of the first marriage could be given to the new spouse in the event of divorce.

Very few people, if any, begin their marriage while contemplating divorce as the end result. Even so, it is important to protect oneself and beneficiaries from the possible consequences of divorce.
